oil and filter

The weezle votes for 6 quarts of motocraft 10 w 30 and a motocraft filter
all that goes into my f 150 5000 miles on the new engine and it runs excellent

10W30 is too light for Southern US states. 20W50 - in my case, Valvoline MaxLife 20W50 for my 265,000 mile F-150.

engine sure dose take alot of oil!

for future refrence, is there a way to get the oil filter out without spilling oil onto the front diff and the cross member thing thats right under it? it got prety messy there.

Oil spills

Throw a newspaper across the axle and one under. Really no other way except to get the remote filter kit.

Go to Costco and get the mobil 1. It will help extend your motor life... If you dont have a Costco near you themit will cost more but still worth it... And i use WIX filters....

Havnt heard many good things about Fram. I put a motorcraft one in, it was real cheap too.

What sort of things have you heard about Fram? I'm asking 'cause I just put one in the truck and the car recently. I never used Fram before this either, it was just what I happened to pick up.

Do a search in the Oil and Lube forum. Be scared! :-hair

Thanks, Beast12. Needless to say, the next oil change will be including a different brand filter.
