Cruise Troubleshooting
My cruise has stopped working. No lights flashing, nothing. I looked at this thread: cruise control not working, but it was left sorta open... and not didn't solve my problem.
I tried bigdawg460's method of getting a cruise trouble code, holding "on" while turning key to on. Nothing. But, if I hold "off", I can get the cruise light to flash once. Pressing any of the other buttons after this does nothing. Can anyone confirm the buttons and sequence required to get the code and then the meanings of whatever code I get? Thanks, Matt |
Is the speedo acting funning like jumping from 0 to 25 if so I would pull the VSS that is mounted on the top of rear end housing and check it if has what looks like iron filing on it clean it and put it back or just replace it they are about 20 bucks from dorf

Nope. Speedo is fine. No flashing ABS light either. No other symptoms.

Well, the darn thing started working again. Just what I need... and intermittent problem.
|
It quit again. Then I tilted the wheel down and it started working. I haven't been able to make it quit working now. Maybe a broken wire in the column?
|
I bet you are right or that connector that comes apart for some people.
|
Anyone know where "that connector" is?
|
There was just a thread on it. I think he said he took off the bottom and top cover and it was on top I think.
|
You may also have a bad clock spring !
its located under the air bag don't mess with it. or you might have a real mess. or the wiring is chaffing around the upper part of the column. Rich :) |
Hmm... and how do I verify the clockspring is bad? Will the horn still work (I have no problem with the horn).
What happened to your sig Forty? |
I had a similar problem with my 2000 SD PSD with a 6 speed manual, I found a bad clutch switch which cost about 40 bucks. Not sure what kind of transmission you have, but hope this gives you one more thing to look at.
