Ruff idle , hesitation/ choke with Ike idle
 

So I’ve changed changed
spark plugs
wires
distributor cap
map manifold sensor.

truck now smells like it’s running rich with a idle that chokes every 8 to 10 seconds. Doesn’t turn off and still runs but I don’t like the idle.
any ideas?

Why did you change the MAP sensor?

Assuming the truck ran okay with the old one based on this statement: "truck now smells like it’s running rich with a idle that chokes every 8 to 10 seconds."

It would also help to know what year/model/engine/transmission truck you are working on.

I changed the map just for some preventive maintenance.

Put the old MAP sensor back on.

If that doesn't fix it have you changed the O2 sensor? Assuming no engine light? Check for codes just in case? Just because the engine light isn't on doesn't mean codes aren't present.

Sounds like possibly an EGR valve the is stuck open or a bad IAC valve.

Iac valve is what exactly. Sorry for the silly question.
