9" AXLE DISC CONVERSION
 

Hello Guys,
after 2 weeks of going through hundreds of threads, i still did not come up with a decent answer.
I need a correct parts list for Rotors, calipers with e-brake and pads to convert our 9" rear from our F150 to Disc brakes.
If not part number, then at least the correct year and model vehicle for the parts.
our 9" is the 31 spline, big bearing new style, (stock 1979 F150 Supercab, long Bed)
I will run 15" aluminum rims.
Im looking for calipers with the parking brake and im looking for Rotors, that do not need to be re-drilled or axle to be turned down. 5-5 1/2 bolt

any help is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, you're searching for a "unicorn". The only Fords that utilized a "5 on 5-1/2" bolt patterns were the F100 and F150 trucks and Ford didn't offer a rear disc option on any of the trucks with a 9" rear.
Ford did offer one vehicle with rear discs and a 9" diff. That was the '77-'79 Lincoln Versailles (a rebadged, way overpriced Ford Granada). Not sure about the Lincoln Mark series and Continental, they may have had rear disc option too.
But none of these had the 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern.

there are a lot of diy solutions i found, talking about K10, eldorado, Suzuki and also nissan parts... Im just hoping someone has done the diy conversion and can verify the true parts needed.
from what i fould, it seems a mid 80's suzuki front rotor has the correct dimensions and a early 90 nissan rear caliper should work and retain the parking brake.. but again, not sure at this point and i dont want to buy all the parts and then they dont fit.

. I have a kit from the late '80s out of a Ford Motorsport catalog that used calipers from an '86 SVO Mustang that uses the same F150 parking brake cables and proportioning valve. It came with rotors, like Mike mentioned, from a late '70s Lincoln that were machined to fit the truck lugs. I would suggest searching the Mustang forums for something similar. I also had an '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with this setup. You still may have to machine lug stud holes in a rotor with the smaller diameter pattern.

Do yourself a big favor and check out Master Power Ford Truck rear disc conversions. I have their set up and they bolt right on and work the first time. The caliber is from a late Mustang with the emergency brake incorporated and does not need to be used often to keep the adjustment. Their rotor fits in a 15” wheel and is drilled for several patterns.

They are from the current model Mustangs. Call Master Power, they are very helpful and have excellent product support.
They are easier to install than a lower crankshaft in a Fairbanks Morse submarine engine.

If and when I put disk brakes on the rear 9" on my Bronco, I am just going to buy a complete bolt on kit and not go searching for parts and pieces in a JY.
