2010 Transit Connect no start

Out of the middle of the blue our 2010 TC would not start yesterday, our driver turned it off to come in and went back out and when he turns the key nothing happens. The display in the middle of the tach/speedo goes blank when the key is turned to start but the starter doesn't even try to activate. It is almost like its an electrical issue with it doing this out of the blue. We have had the truck since new and this is the first time it has done something like this.

I have tried:
Jiggling the key while starting
Jump starting the battery even though its at 12.9v
Gone though the fuses
Forscan is showing nothing on codes, Key on engine off test comes back fine as well as all other tests
Tried the backup key, the security light acts normal
Tried putting in Neutral and starting, moved the shifter back and forth

I have not tried getting under it yet and hitting the starter with a jumper cable to see if it activates, could a dead starter act like this?

There are a lot of possibles here. Fuel pump. Ignition switch. Starter. Wiring. Relay. Fuse. Fuel filter.

May be tansmission is not in park.

Tried everything so far and still will not send power to the starter start line. Pulled starter and had it checked, its good. Checked all fuses and relays they are good. Pulled key cylinder and put in a new one and it does same thing. Tried starting in N and same thing, cycled the gears. Not throwing any codes, just will not activate the starter for some reason.

Scratching my head on this one.

You're sure that you've got good fuel & air.

Good starter. No electricity going to the starter. Check the wiring. Are the positive and negative cables good? Is it properly grounded? Look at the harness. Is there corrosion?

Consider the vehicle's computer control system. The computer needs a signal from the ignition key switch. The computer needs to know that the transmission is not in drive or reverse gear. Then the computer sends a signal to the starter. There could be a problem with corrosion in the computer connection harnesses, loose wiring, or even damaged wiring. Not unheard of for a rodent to have gnawed on a wire somewhere.....somewhere you can't see or find. You may need more advanced diagnostics with a scan tool. You may need a tool capable of running Key On Engine Off & Key ON Engine Running test.

It may be time to turn the job over to a different technician, with a fresh set of eyes.

Already tried all that short of taking the harness apart and checking each pin. The starter was removed and took it to a place that specializes in starters and it checked out good, put it back in and has it has power going to it but the signal is not getting to it telling it to start.

Already tried KOEO test via forscan lite and it came back with no issues.

Ended up taking it to the dealer and they traced it to a bad wire harness.

So it was a wire harness after all.

Yep, was figuring that was it but wasn't 100% so I took it to them. They are replacing the whole harness, they said once one part goes you might as well replace everything.

They also said they have never just seen it die like that, usually it will have intermittent issues beforehand.
