1990 460 Econoline 350 engine swap to 1990 F350 5.8
I located an Econoline 350 Box Truck that has a 7.5 in it. Can this work in a F350 to replace a 5.8 and what would need to be changed? I notcied the breather box on top instead of the fender well but aside from that could see too much around it. Is this doable with minor modification of should I contiue looking for another F350?
Thank in advance. |
It could work but you need the big block trans too as that motor won't bolt up to the one behind the 5.8, also need the 7.5 PCM.

Nothing minor about it. Two different engine series, different transmissions, exhaust, cooling and a host of others. Are you trying to repower your F350 to replace a blown engine or just to get more power?

It is a complete truck so the trans is there too. New box, brain, distributor, runs good. I just noticed what I saw on the top of the engine was a whole lot different than a F350 and crawled under it and saw a lot of difference.

Would the trans & engine volt in place of the 5.8 and also would the air filter and stuff on top of the engine be hard to transfer to the fender well?
