2011 Front Shock Replacement
My sons truck needs new shocks all the way around, but I'm wondering what I'm getting into in front. his truck has level spacers up front, and I'm wondering if I replace the shocks if I'll need to get the front end aligned.. I watched a video where the complete spring/shock was replaced, but not sure if doing just the shock will be more than pulling the complete coil/shock. Any advice is appreciated. |
Just the shock is harder than a whole shock/spring (strut). You'll need spring compressors to replace the shock portion and that has some danger.

I was the hard-headed one that did the shock only replacement. I will never do that again. The lower arm was filled with harden mud (from the PO). I had to chisle it out. It took me 3 hr to finish the drivers side alone.
