1970 f250 defroster duct?
 

Looking for an aftermarket replacement/reproduction for a C7TZ-18A637-A (the left side). I'm guessing that NOS parts are scarcer than moon rocks.

Clardy was kind enough to squish mine flat when they installed the aftermarket A/C, and it didn't come out intact when I dropped the A/C to get access inside the dash.

I need the defroster/defogger more than I need the air conditioning, so the A/C may come out entirely.

Dorman #96003 2 1/4", 96004 2 1/2", 96006 3"
Gates #23836 2 1/4"

The OE is 2.25", would have to fashion something to make the ends work.

Last time I checked 2.25 = 2 1/4 inch. I found mine on ebay for 32 for a pair.

If you look carefully, you'll see that the lower half of the left-hand hose is pointed to by two arrows... it's designated as both "18A636-A" and "18A637-A". The lower half of the right-hand hose has no arrow pointing to it. I'd think the actual information is fairly obvious... but whether that error has propagated into other areas of the system, I can't tell.

I've picked up some 2 & 1/4 inch ducting and am going to improvise.

BTW, my truck does not have the integral air conditioning, it has a Clardy add-on. When the Clardy was installed, they squished the original ducting flat. Hopefully, I'll be able to re-route the replacement ducting to avoid that problem.

I don't see the "A" suffix on either part #. My guess is the only difference between the two parts is the length. I've installed many of these and the old ones were slightly crushed from the factory as it has to snake around the radio and ash tray.

Yup, you are right. There aren't many parts in that illustration designated as "-A". Quoting "-A" when it isn't there was an excess on my part. The reason I brought it up is because if "18A637" is shown on the drawing, then it ought to link to a valid part number. Also, it's pretty obvious to me that the "18A636" part is still installed in my truck, so I don't need it.

Different lengths would seem to be a rational reason for different numbers. I can see where the longer part might supersede the shorter, in order to reduce the number of parts needed in inventory; it would probably work in either position.

I don't need to look at it, because I know better...this is a generic illustration for ALL 1965/72 truck heaters, but they're not all the same.

Here are the applications for the ducts: Do you see C7TZ-18A637-A? No you don't and I don't either, as there's no such thing. :-X04

I'd agree with you, except that the illustration doesn't indicate "Typical".

Parts catalog doesn't say typical, but for us (JEFFFAFA and I) in the know...we know better.

Look at the applications I posted for the ducts. If that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.

When I needed both ducts for my 68 F250 (without factory A/C) I used some 1st Gen Mustang ones
