Exhaust smell in cab.
Hi guys. I keep getting a exhaust smell in cab. It’s compleetely random and I have not been able to figure it out. Anybody else have a similar issue. 100k cclb

I thought I had an exhaust leak earlier this year. Ended up being coolant leaking from the turbo fitting. The little bit of coolant that was burning off wasn't enough to identify it as coolant. For me anyway...

If it's random, possibly during active regen? I know a clamp somewhere at the exhaust downpipe can loosen over time. People here have said it's a pain to reach but found it was loose. I quickly searched for the thread I remember but its been too long and couldn't find it.

I had an issue with exhaust in the cab on my 05 6.0. turned out it was a rusted out down pipe... I live I Michigan so rust is very common in these parts. Started at about 140 k

The Following is the link to the discussion https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ing-regen.html
Read thru it and it will give you a description and location of where that little fitting is located. I had that issue on my 11 and it fixed the exhaust smell in the cab issue. |
I'm experiencing the same thing every once in awhile and like you others when you close the vent to recirculate the smell is gone my truck is a 2015 F350 6.7 any ideas that may be different and can you please post better pictures I'm not mechanically inclined on my truck yet so the best pictures and area saying what the better so I can check this out before I have to take it to a dealer. I noticed the smell again yesterday when I was at 65% soot level .

The two provided pictures get you in the right area. It's not simple to get quality pictures in some of the confined places on this truck. I recommend taking it to your dealer if you can't locate the clamp or you find it's not the issue. Provide as much detail as you can so they can troubleshoot. If it's bad enough, you just need to get it resolved even if it does mean dealer work. |
