1951 F-5 239 Exhaust Manifolds
2 Attachment(s)
I have been hanging a few more parts on the Big Gal's rebuilt 239, and have run into an issue with the exhaust manifolds. The engine builder thought I wanted headers, so he got rid of the originals, not that they were in great shape. I have a few sources for original manifold, but nobody knows about truck manifolds. The set I tried were stamped 8BA-9431 on the left side, and when I tried to mount them the the cross-over hits the engine mount frame horns. Does anyone have a photo or diagram of the correct exhaust manifolds and maybe a stamped number?

The p/n's for what you want are 7RT-9430 (PS) and 7RT-9431 (DS).
What you posted is a Car exhaust system. They had different engine supports. |
The OP lives in San Dimas CA where Early Ford Store is located. AFAIK, this is the only Ford obsolete parts store extant here in LA LA Land.
They have tons of used parts, so he should whiz over there and see if they have a pair of 1948/53 truck V8 flattie 7RT exhaust manifolds. The 8BA-9431 left manifold he alluded to in post #1 is for a 1949/51 Ford V8 car. :( earlyfordstore.com |
21A-9431 (LH) will work on the the driver side, but the outlet is a bit smaller. Most likely the 21A-9430 will work on the passenger side, but haven't actually tried that one. - Bob
