V10 60,000 mile. What to service???
Hi, Have 1999 32 ft RV with V10 that is coming up to 60,000 miles. I regularly have oil filter and airfilter changes. It has no problems but I feel at 60,000 it needs a service. Was thinking of the serpentine belt, coolant and transmission fluid change/flash. Interested in your opinions and suggestions. We are based in Dallas. Thanks

If you never had the coolant changed, defiantly good flush, should be done at least every 5 years.
Transmission fluid is also a good idea at that mileage. |
On every vehicle I have ever owned, every two years I change trans fluid & filter, differential/gear oil, coolant and brake fluid.

Do all fluids. Transmission, differential, brake, power steering, coolant.
Also change the fuel filter. Run the engine nice and hot before you park it for the winter. Keep a battery maintainer on it. Don't run the engine to idle it (no need), unless you idle it for a while to FULLY warm up engine and oil. All very easy to do. These rv engines suffer more from sitting than being used. With good maintenance they can last a long time. |
