Overdrives
I'm looking for input. Is anyone running a Gearvendors everdrive behind a C-6 in a shortbed 4x4? I'm concerned about the steep drive shaft angle and it's surviveability. I'm running a stock suspension on my '77. Any input would be helpfful.

Could always swap to a T-18 or NP435 and gain a crawler gear, plus have the benefit of a much shorter but still robust transmission.

Not looking for a crawler gear, looking for better cruising rpm's. 3000 rpms at 65 mph is just crazy with a 400 c.i. engine.
If you're pulling 3000rpm at 65mph then why not just change to higher diff gears? 3.54 ratio would see about 2500rpm and higher than that would be better still. I'm going to 3.54's from 4.56's, at the moment the 4.56's deliver a good 'relaxed' cruising speed of about 45mph hahaha. - boingk |
