Welcome to FTE.
The E-brake.... Does the truck have a transmission mounted E brake at the output shaft, and your substitute transmission doesn't? Your new trans is probably an E4OD. I am pretty sure there is a model of that trans with the e-brake incorporated, from on of the F or E 350 models. Your EFI motor and trans will need the engine controller to run, along with the wiring harness. What are you going to do with the truck? Also, potential deal killer question: How are your brakes? Drums are not available for these, but all other parts are. |
The E40D does not have one on it. The current Unit is a (Stick) with a trans mounted E-brake.
I have all the wiring harness and Controllers for the Engine and transmission. Usage: Well it is either going to be a flat bed Drag Car Carrier or a Shop truck not sure exactly but it will see some freeway service. Brakes: Hmmm well yet to be seen. I know it need work so well see. |
Post 10 has a pic, you can find out the model in the text. Sorry, in a hurry...:-X03
E4OD blew up. Other options? MT or AT - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com |
The transmission mounted E-Brake usually mounts to a 4x4 transmission. If the E4OD you have is from a 4x4 the E-Brake may just bolt up to it. If it isn't a 4x4 trans it needs to be rebuilt to turn it into one.

Awww got it. Good to know Thanks.:)

Thought, Using the 361 FE and the C-6 Round bolt pattern with a Mounted E-Brake in the trans? Injecting the 361 ?
|
Hard to make more power out of the 361 without adding compression and cam. Injection will clean it up, but not much more power.
C6 with a attached E-brake? Seems like the E4OD set up would be easier to find. |
I think you right but my other problem seems that the E40D is missing the VSS is there a way around that?
|
Yes, there is. You can mount a tone ring on the driveshaft. Make a mount for the VSS to read that ring.

So simple Thanks So Much..
