2001 f250 new to me...odd wire
Hey yall! I have been diving through the forums the last month or so after I just picked up a very clean f250 w/ the v10. So far love it. I have been talking to 5star and will be ordering a tuner and y pipe next payday.
anyways, there is a weird pulg that has been cut on the female side under the hood, drivers side, and up near the top of the headlight frame. Seems small gauged wire and i believe one of the wires is yellow w/ a black strip or dash. Any clue what this is and can it be used to power fog lights?' |

I believe that is for daytime running lights.

That is the wiring connector that is to be plugged into the DRL resistor on vehicles so equipped. But because your vehicle is likely a U.S. spec vehicle (versus a Canadian spec vehicle), it has never been equipped with DRLs, therefore the plug is blocked off.

I'm going to go find that since I have a new set of headlights that have a DRL built in...

is it as easy as installing a modual and you have drl?
If you desire DRL lights on your truck, you would simply have to purchase an aftermarket add-on type kit, to make it the most cost-effective installation. |
