This is how I do 48-52 doors....
Put the division bar in the bare door first. It barely fits....then move it out of the way. next window regulator. then vent assy. slide division bar forward and set glass into the bottom of the door. install bar but leave the bottom loose. slide glass up into place and attach, the bar will flex enough to pop it into the rear channel. now the perimeter channel starting at the lower rear. Adjust lower division bar for correct operation . Last are the anti rattle fuzzies. Also, I'm having problems getting the clips crimped on to the anti rattlers. The clips that came with the anti rattle fuzzies (from Dennis Carpenter) are smaller than those on the ones I removed from the truck and end up much lower on the channel: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...850571a02f.jpg And when installed it looks like the fuzzies will ride above the edge of the window opening. Is this correct? https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...1e48346378.jpg |
One piece door glass install

I bought my complete glass set from Vintage Glass. All glass came as a kit. I made a template of door glass from thin sheet of wood and used to form the fuzzy and to test fit glass.I put top weatherstrip in first then the glass and last the bottom weatherstrip. Above is my template. |
Check with firstrider on that problem. Those new clips are not worth crap!Denny may chime in and able to help you/he sure helped me!

Yup , have 144 of the OEM type felt clips here. All media blasted primed & painted gloss black . Used them on both trucks here . The 3 prong POS china made clips aren't worth a crap !! That is why on all off the 8 "Great Parts Safari " trip brother & i remove all we can . Not all of the exterior clips are good but most of the interior clips are . Am planning the Sept version of the GPS . Will be picking up many 16' 5 lug F-1 wheels & many 16" 8 lug F-2 wheels , drums & backing plates .Put your requests in early !!
