HEADERS

Hey guys, will short headers make any difference in performance or sound on the 5.8 engine on my 96 bronco ?

khadma 08-08-2014 01:46 AM

My set up does:D
At least the noisy part, not too much on monster horsepower gains.

JBA short headers,
With a Flowmaster 40 series with dual pipes dumping right out of the muffler.
I am planning to switch to a different muffler brand soon.

Oh okay thanks ...I think Ima go with the flowmaster super 10 for a while then add a JBA shorty so I can hear the difference

The stock cats need to go to see significant gains with shorties or to get much sound from an aftermarket muffler. Longtubes will produce the best and most noticable gains but you will be replacing the complete exhaust and fabricating your own mid section since nobody makes a bolt-on midpipe setup for longtubes on these 4x4 trucks.

I have BBK shorties. They are actually quieter than the stock manifolds. The sound is alot better though.

I would love to take the cats off but I live in CA and CA is really strict with the smog
