Selling a 97 Aerostar

Where would be the best place to advertise a 1997 3.0L Aerostar for sale? I have one in very good condition with only 49,700 miles on it.

your local Craigslist

Local craigslist, ebay, etc. What are you asking BTW?

Well, the book value is between $2800 and $3400. Was thinking around $2900.
No rust at all, no dents, new front shocks, front brake pads and rotors, inside very clean, lots of rubber on Michelins. Runs good.
I live a bit north of Detroit near Port Huron.

Sometimes I wish I had money. If I did, I would have no problem buying it and flying in and driving it back home. Finding rust free vans is hard.

Sometimes? I wish I had money all the time. And I wish I had more time, as well.

A low mile Aerostar is a good find. I got my 97 with 44k on the clock 10 years ago and I thought that was a great find.

I paid a hefty price for my 1997 but it is mint, intact body and undamaged rocker panels, factory paint, rare beige interior, XLT package, low miles, the kind you know has not been abused. I looked for months until I found it. Yes I've had to perform repairs but I expected it.

Just a friendly reminder that selling on the forum is not allowed. Please take it to the classified section. I will leave this here for another day and then move it to the classified section. Anyone interested should go through PM.

blackeyed1 07-22-2014 01:52 PM

I apologize. I didn't know that. Won't happen again.

No problem. We tend to relax the rules a little for old trucks, for which parts are tough to find. I figure it might be hard for someone to find an Aerostar these days, so I will leave this thread here, but use PM if you want to contact each other. That is to prevent cluttering the forum with "For Sale" threads.

Good luck.

How crazy can it get! I decided to keep the van as it was better on gas mileage than my diesel pickup.
Pulled into the grocery store lot that afternoon, and an old rusted out beater Aerostar pulled in behind me, and the guy wanted to buy it on the spot. He said he had money with him and wanted to know what I wanted. Told him $3,000 jokingly. He said okay, we drove to my house, signed over the title and he gave me cash on the spot!

congratulations. I was recently in a similar situation, was offered (undisclosed) amount for mine, very tempting offer, but I said "nahhhh" I'll keep the old hag hahaa!

My old girl sets parked out on the street waiting for me to drive her. Sometimes sets for months without moving.
She gets a wash/wax several times a year, oil changes and the basic stuff.
Still shines almost like new, except for a few bumps and bruises.

Have people coming to the door wanting to buy her or putting please sell notes on her in parking lots. They get upset when I won't sell her on the spot. Lots of young large families looking for people movers.

I probably would have kept it, but Michigan car insurance rates are outrageous.
