Which the Choose
I need a little help please help me choose one
1. 2011 F-250 Screw 4X4 Lariat 18452 miles 6.7l for 41995 this truck has the 20 inch wheels the side bed truck has the FX4 on it but i did nit see it on the Ford MSRP Sticker 2. 2012 F-250 Screw 4X4 Lariat 30000 miles 6.7l for 41200 This truck has a little more it also has fx4 package & the camper package 18 inch wheels lights on the roof (really do not care for this) 3. 2012 F-250 Screw 4X4 Lariat 58452 miles 6.7l for 39295 this one is loaded has Nav. 20 inch wheels 4. 2013 F-250 loaded KR but 6.2 gas 7500 miles 38999 # 1 & 2 are just about the same inside # 3 is more of everything # 4 is loaded like 3 but it a gas motor and it 4 X 2 My thinking it either #2 or #1 less miles and color and interior are the same. my reason on one it 12 less miles but is right there with it. Please anyone input |
what are you using it for? do you NEED the crew cab? do you NEED a longer bed? do you NEED the diesel?
if you can't decide - start with a list of NEEDS and make sure each of them meet it - if they all do, then start looking at and comparing wants. whichever one meets all of your NEEDS and the most of your wants should be the obvious answer. |
mileage shuld be a big factor ... mileage of 18 k seems to be the big winner for me. ur getting 12 k for 700 bucks

#2
Any money that you save on purchase price will be eaten up when you buy 20" tires. Yesterday diesel was $.70 more per gallon here. Too bad #4 is 4x2. |
do you have to have a Lariat or KR? If you can live with an XLT you can get a new one for around the price of those used trucks. Out of those choices though I would pick number one mainly because of the miles. Run the stock 20" tires until they are shot then buy a set of 18's and sell the 20's.

#4 unless you have to have 4WD

I agree, used vehicle prices are just insane anymore and really aren't that great of a deal. I realize that some people want all the fancy stuff and there is nothing wrong with that, but I'm the type that would rather buy a new truck with less options than a loaded up used truck for the same price. When I ordered my truck last fall I built a lariat SC with the gas motor and MSRP was around $43k, so out the door that would even be less than the used ones listed above.

what kind of mileage are you get city/hwy
That's probably not the numbers you wanted to hear, but for a HD truck I'm happy with the results. I thought about getting a diesel, but with the type of driving I do I can't justify nor need a Diesel engine and knew the money I saved on the diesel option would buy a lot of gas. Plus I drive a diesel truck everyday for work and just don't want to mess with one on my free time. |

I have the 6.2L and 4.30 gears in my 4wd F250 and the best I've gotten is 14mpg on longer trips running with the cruise set at 58-60mpg.

If you need 4x4 then #4 is out but if you do not need 4x4 then #4 is the winner. My 2011 f-250 6.2 gas gets 14 mpg at 80 m/h with 3.73 rear end box loaded max weight. when i pull my 31ft trailer with box loaded i get 10 m/g in the mountians avg.
