ZF6 value
looking at a zf6 for a family member, is 650 a fair price?? It's out of a 2000 with 270,000 miles..Thats all i know..

I would think so, as long as it's in good shape. Most of the rebuilt manuals, I've seen, go for over $1000.
|
Haven't seen a reman anywhere close to $1000. Mostly $1500-2000 range.
$650 seems like a screaming deal, but with 270k+ synchros...... Not without some risk. |
Im with Scott. I've always felt and seen zf6's being in higher demand because they arent as common as the automatic, and people looking for them what them bad enough that they will pay close to the same as reman. Actually know a guy who put a BTS in his truck and said just him selling his manual equipment covered close to half if not more than half of the total cost...
so yes 650 is a great deal IMO but like said, comes with some risk just like buying anything used that hasnt been rebuilt. |
They go for $1000-$1500 in this neck of the woods all day long.

Soooooo how hard is it to rebuild a ZF6 and what special tools are needed?

Of course the 4th file refuses to load, I'll try again later. Maybe someone else has it.
|
Still can't make it happen. Here's the thread, 2nd post, 4th link.
