C-6 output shaft variations

I have a C-6 and motor from my 76 Highboy , so divorced set up with yoke and I would like to use it in my 78 married setup. The output shaft from the 76 C-6 like I said has the yoke and packing nut so the shaft length variation is only the threaded portion of the shaft which the nut goes on. Is it possible to use the C-6 with current shaft in a married application ? Has anyone out there done this ? Thanks in advance for any help!

No, the married C6 doesn't have a yoke on it, it bolts directly to the transfer case.

I know someone looking for that setup on a C-6 that has the set up your looking for. Not sure if it's just as simple as swapping the tailshaft and adaptor. Do you have a picture of trans and tcase as it is?

The entire transmission has to be disassembled to remove the output shaft. There's a gazillion snap rings, washers in a C6, better make sure you re-install them in the correct locations.

The forward/direct/reverse steel and lined clutch plates are all different, as is the number of each. Make sure you reinstall these in the correct locations. And take lots of pics during disassembly, cuz you'll need them.
