Oil Pump Leak 85 F-350 w/ 460 auto
Well, I was to drop off my Truck for PA Inspection on Sunday night, but ended up not because of the weather was getting bad. During the inspection the mechanic was going to check out my hesitation issue (appears may be accel pump issue) - In my previous thread a few days ago. Was checking out a few things because I was going to drive it up tomorrow (30 miles). After letting it idle for about 5 mins, I noticed the oil drops on the ground. In checking into it, it appears the oil is dripping around the point where the oil pump goes into the block.
My oil gauge has was ready like it always has, right on the "A" of N O R M A L. Is that a sign of a bad oil pump / gasket? The truck has 146K miles and is 2x4 auto. We hardly put 200-250 miles/yr on that truck over the last 5+ years (everything is so local that we use the truck for - I know that is not good) I have not been on here as much as in the past, but after strong consideration we want to keep this truck and get it back to good running condition again. Where the oil pump goes into the block? That's underneath the oil pan. Do you maybe have a remote filter kit or sumthin'?

The oil cooler adapter is secured to the block with a big bolt, try and re-torque it, they sometimes come loose. If not, the o-ring could be faulty, an easy and cheap fix.

UPDATE: Thanks Beetle! I re-torque to bolt you described and it had some turn left in it. Tightened it up after spending almost 1 hr cleaning up and around the area. Put in oil to bring it back to the dipstick markings and started up the truck and let it idle for a good 15-20 mins. No more leak! If I can get the rubber ring (seal) individually, I am going to replace it though.

The o-ring is Fel Pro part #447RR, I can't find the part number for the gasket under the bolt at the moment, but, it needs to be replaced too.
