1978 Body/Cab/Rad Polyurethane Mounting Set - Bronco Vs. F150 Differences?
Are there any differences in the Bronco and F150 Body Mounting Sets that you see from LMC Truck... or from parts sellers like this?
Body Cab Mount Bushing Cushion Set Kit Ford Full Size Bronco 78-79 44102 Frame | eBay I'm wondering if I can use the "Bronco" bushing/mounting set on my 1978 F150... and not on a Bronco? Any thoughts? |
My guess is it would work but your gonna have extra parts. Trucks dont have as many mounts. Also I have seen poly truck mounts on amazon for $50 - $60. In short it looks like you might spend more money than you need to for this kit.
|
^ Exactly, you're paying more for the Bronco kit to get extra bushings you do not need, save yourself $40 and buy the correct kit...

third. I have the truck kit from energy. The bushings are totally different than my stockers, though. I had to buy new bolts and hardware.

I have a set of Energy suspension mounts for a f250 pick up, the rear cab bushing is about 1/8 thicker than the front cab bushing, each half has it's own number. These #s are for upper half of each mount, the half that goes between the body and frame. Also what crazy96863 is correct!
I used a complete oem rubber kit from JBG Because body lines were not perfect with poly, I may cut some shims and attempt it again one day but my oem lasted 35yrs. Buy the right kit for our truck. Energy part#s Rear x 2 #4159 1 5/16" Front x 2 #4155 1 3/16" Core x2 #4161 3/4" |
if your stock bushings lasted 35 years, congrats, thats about 25 years longer than any of the ones I've seen. lol. granted all my trucks were older than that when i owned them, but the stock rubber bushings have been GONE, just dry rotted, the steel hardware rusted to pieces or rusted in one piece, the rubber cracking or gone completely. The poly stuff will last, potentially, forever.
I can see how the lines might not match up. not a concern for me since I have a flat bed. but like I said, my bushings are different than my rubber ones. They fit in there, but they are a different shape and design. |

Thanks for the help so far guys, but I'm looking for a set I can buy off of ebay.
Those parts dealers always hit you with ridiculous $$$ in shipping cause I live in Canada, so those "free shipping" days don't ever apply to me. I guess I'm taking a bit of a risk, but I'm trying to order my mounting bushings off of Ebay. I sent out an email to one of the cheaper (I'm not paying no $100 for this bushing set... or LMC's $250...) dealers on Ebay, this is what I was sent back with: This kit includes the following: 2 - 68015 - Body Mount 2 - 60337 - Body Mount 2 - 60339 - Body Mount 2 - 68020 - Body Mount 2 - 68021 - Body Mount 2 - 68031 - Body Mount This kit does cover the radiator support bushings. You can find this kit here: Prothane 6110 - Body Mount Bushings Set - 2WD. 6110 Does this look correct to everyone? |

Any idea on how to double check that they'll fit my truck? Usually they have some sort of vehicle dropdown box thingy like Ebay has where it will tell you whether or not they will fit your vehicle, but I don't see it on either of those links that you posted.

EDIT: Here is a bushing set that's directly linked to our trucks... but ships much later than I'd like. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/c/ref=aw_d_c_automotive Still getting me a HUGE deal on those bushings... man LMC has ridiculous prices.. |
I looked these up using my F100. I'm sure the mounts are the same.
Still it is a good idea to verify for yourself since it's your money. Amazon usually lets you punch in the make model year of the vehicle verify fitment on the same page as the product. If for some reason this isn't working you could always look up the product again using normal channels. You can also reverify by looking up the part number on another site for example Summit racing. |

I think I'm just going to straight up order those bushings today so that I get them when I need them (couple of weeks). Looks like they fit F150 2WD trucks just fine (according to amazon). |
You know what I've had products that I've bought from Amazon that were not quite what I intended and they been phenomenal about returning them or just giving me credit and telling me to dispose of them. On any kind of major purchase I always double check the prices with Amazon because they're just amazing to deal with.

Ford Trucks and cars are his thing. He's quoted me some prices that are not bad. He deals with suppliers and keeps a small inventory in his warehouse. And he's in Canada. LARRY'S CARS & PARTS Specializing in Ford Parts 1940 & Up - Courtenay, British Columbia You might not get bushings from him, but he deals in pretty much all aftermarket stuff for ford trucks. |
BTW Aaron,
Who did you end up dealing with on ebay/amazon ect? were you satisfied with the parts when they were delivered. How much did you have to pay for shipping? |

They were about to ship out the wrong parts to me, but caught themselves the day they were shipping everything out only to find that they UNDER-STOCKED those specific bushings... so some idiot just filled my box with something completely wrong and said "good enough". Luckily it was caught before it was shipped out, but now I'm on a waiting list from the manufacturer, which will take another 2 weeks for them to get it in and then another week or so to ship it to me. I'm not one to complain when small mistakes are made, but when you've got two whole weeks before its shipped to get it right, you'd think you'd do just that and NOT wait until the last minute to check "is this correct?" I'm not impressed because they never offered me anything at all for their massive mistake, but i'm not super pissed off cause other things have come up in my life that I can afford to wait for them another 2-3 weeks. I paid roughly $40 with tax for the bushings and $30 for shipping (supposed to be three weeks max when it hits my doorstep for $30). The other shipping option was something like $80 to make it hit my doorstep a week earlier... nothanks... Overall I'm not satisfied with their "opsy daisy", and I haven't heard back when my parts will even be shipped so I can't tell you if they're even decent for my vehicle or not. Next time I think I'll just pay the extra $50-$100 to get it from a real parts store/online store that knows what they're doing and will get it to me within two weeks or less... cause this was the most painful online experience I've had yet.... |
