someone help me please
 

i have a 2004 f350. i parked the truck on a jersey barrier about 3 weeks ago and i havent had an issue until last night. i have hids, led running lights with resistors in the front. im having some crazy electrical issues with the truck. it started with no brake lights or running lights in the rear when my head lights are on. when the head lights are off they are fine and work normal. i found a crushed wire in the rear under the bed for the right rear side. now the cab lights flash when the right directional is on if it decides to not stay on all the time. the left front running light doesnt work unless i move the wires around then the mirror running light and directional come on and stay on. anyone have any idea what could cause this? what it might be?

Do yourself a favor and start by removing your HID's and going back to stock. Maybe even disconnect your LED's for now. Fix any bad wiring you find. Then see if your problem is still there. Did you install these yourself? If so, it should be easier for you to retrace your steps.

I pulled the leds and the resistors last night and went to stock and that's when my problem got worse. Its nothing to do with the hids either because the problem arrises when the running lights are on so im guessing its with the front running?

The front what? Led's? Hid's? Lights? If you installed these yourself, remove wherever you spliced for ground and positive and check again. If you found a wire pinched, as you stated, chances are there is more of them. The problems you are having all point to wiring, not components. You will have to be patient and work your way thru the wiring. Start with the area you find that "crushed" wire. Do you know if the truck was in an accident? If so, do you know what part of the truck was in the wreck?

I took all of the wiring and lights that I added and started from there. I hit a jersey barrier with the passenger side rear about 3 weeks ago. That's where I found one wire pinched and im gonna start there again today and work toward the fron of the truck. Why would it only happen when the running lights are on though?

when I hit the brake lights my running lights come on. Thinking its back feeding through the brake light? Anyone have any input at all?

Not sure how your HIDs are wired in your truck, but the kit in mine, I do not have to splice anything, its a simple plug and play unit.

I would be checking all your wires front to back as best as you can, something could be jumping another one out causing your problem....

My hids are plug and play but when you run leds for running lights you need to splice in a resistor so they don't blink fast.

Sounds like you have a bad ground somewhere. When you hit your lights they go to ground through the affected lights.

I found a bad ground already and fixed it. It was on the frame in rear of the truck drivers side. It was half broken off so I put a new connecter on it and cleaned it down to bare metal. Could it be a bad light socket in the rear? Anyone know of all the ground locations in the rear?

Bad sockets can do weird things.

Figured it out finally. The passenger side rear socket was junk, 3 pinched wires, and a ground wire came apart from its splice in the wire loom half way down the frame right after the frame ground in the rear.

Do I get points on the bad ground theory?? LOL :-drink

Yeah you do for sure. Just my luck that it was a combo of everything. Took 3 days to straighten it all out.

Normally when lights start doing stupid things there's a bad ground involved.
