Basically, set up a Photo Bucket account. Import your pictures into said account. Copy the picture's location. Click on the yellow icon with the mountain above^^, and paste the location into the pop-up window. It's quite easy after a few tries.

Thanks! this makes Facebook seem elementary! Photo Bucket it is...

you can also put the photo in your gallery, then click edit and code for posting. Copy the code and paste in your post.

As I don't see any lobes on that distributor, I think you were quite accurate.

Yeah, the broken part is the internal lever for the turn signal switch. I don't believe it's replaceable separately. You'll probably have to replace the entire switch assembly. Here's a close-up pic from an eBay auction.

I see, it's upside down. I have a 56 column from a custom cab with the internal turn signal switch that is available if you are interested.
Have you checked to see if Mid Fifty can help you?
If not I may be able to build you a new piece using mine as a pattern reference.

That ought to be able to be welded back together. Strange piece and place to break tho?

rrstaplet 02-27-2012 08:59 PM

Yes, I am investigating the welding option. It looks like the eBay replacement part is flat- mine had an upward bend before the break. I reckon I will have the part welded and flattened out.
Thanks for the reply. I did not know how to describe the part.

ACracer, I will keep you posted. I am visiting the welding shop tomorrow.

Man do I feel stupid. It's been a couple of years since I pulled my column and it looked like the points were broken. Oh, well, it gave me my best laugh today!:-X22

Probably someone put a different steering wheel on that didn't really fit.
