Need a trailer hitch.
91 F-250 4X4. Needing a 2" reciever hitch for it. Can I make a deal with someone? I would love something I could simply bolt on.

check local salvage yards.

A salvage yard might have one for you. Here's a handy hint... look not just for ford '87-'96 hitches, but also for Dodge Dakota or Ram early 90's. I say this because I had a '96 Dakota and got a salvaged class IV hitch to put on it. I never installed it before selling the truck. Later when I got the '94 F350, I was looking at that hitch and it looked similar in size to the ford's frame. I held it up to the frame and, voila, it fits perfectly. Now, there is a chance that the salvage yard sold me the wrong hitch, so if you find a dodge hitch for your ford, doublecheck the dimensions before buying it.
good luck, peace out, cheers... |
I just bought a Class 5 hitch on eBay for $125 by searching for the model number referenced by Curt. They had it listed for a 1977 dodge D250, but it mates up to my frame just fine.

Most of those hitches will work on just about anything.. Put a Class 5 Valley on my fathers '72 C10. listing on the side of the box, had just about everything covered. '60-'87 Chevy, Dodge from like '70-'93, Ford from like '80-'96. we took it out of the box figuring it wasn't going to fit right, but the center bar was drilled in a few places, and it lined up and fit nearly perfect, only lost the spare tire carrier.

I think it was specific enough that the frames are close in width.. As I remember, there were only 2 sets of holes for the width. Dodge and Ford used the inside holes and Chevy used the outside holes IIRC.. it went up in less than an hr.
