Lifting 2wd F100?
I'm looking to lift the front end of my 70 2wd somewhere around 2-4 inches. I have a set of 265/75/16 tires I'd like to run. I've read that drop brackets used to be available for the beams, but they seem to be off the market now. I can't even find pictures. Does anybody have any info on these, or another inexpensive alternative?
I have found a $1400 kit that will go 5 inches, but that's a bit taller than I'd like and too much money. I've also read that the beams can be flipped over and switched side to side for a 10 inch lift, but that's ridiculous for my needs. I know I can just throw taller springs in there and it will lift it but the camber will be way off and it will eat the outsides of the tires. The beams could be bent to compensate but I'd rather just drop the mounting point an appropriate amount and be done with it. Thanks, Devin |

you can just go with the taller springs and lower the mounting points on the i beams. jcwhitney has such brackets. i cant remember if they fit bumps though. ill look threw their catalog and tell ya when i find them.

LMC Truck used to have leveling kits...i think it raised the front 2 inches and lowered the back like 1 or something like that
|
those brackets are for 80-97 trucks.
but theres no reason (that i know of) why you couldnt do it that way. if you could build the brackets or if you are able to find them, or have them built. |
I'm still reading. If i can't find brackets readily available I'll probably go with the posted econo kit. Thanks for the input.

Those are the same size tire I am running on my stock height 2wd. Gives it a full look but they really are too big.

You might PM BillW and/or Area351. See if they are interested in making them for you.

ive got 31x1050R15s they fit nicely. no rubbing or such. I would just like to lift the front up a few inches to have it sit level. it just looks totally wrong to me seeing a truck going down the road nosed down...
I can build what I need if somebody would be willing to leak their plans to me... all I need is some brackets to drop the beams and maybe the radius arms... 1500 bucks is WAY to rich for me.. |
