Ok guys, let's mix it up a bit with a new thread idea...

Not my vehicle, but really a well kept machine.

Some kind of an FE series...probably a 352.

That turbo throws me off of the 4.9l, sure looks like a diesel. What the heck, I'll guess FORD LEHMAN 120 diesel engine
– 120hp -6 cylinder- 380 cu. in -

Would be cool if it could be installed like this:

NumberDummy 04-24-2011 03:22 PM

240 & 300 (4.9L) I-6: The intake/exhaust manifolds are on the right (passenger) side.

The truck w/the 352 is a 1965, and has the correct black plate number (S41171) that was issued in 1965. My 1965 F100 black plates: S28392. I installed these plates in March 1965, so I know the number is correct.

SteveBricks 04-24-2011 03:49 PM

It's a 6.6 diesel.

Ok, I can see it now.

Yahoo! Video Detail for Ford F600 6.6l diesel

I'm interested in that truck. It says Ventura County Fire Dept and I'm from Ventura. But all of our engines and trucks are yeller.

Trey, I'm guessing it's an old fire service truck from Los Padres Nat'l forest. I saw it at a car show in Camarillo.:-X22

BTW, welcome to the So Cal Chapter! I'm a newbie to the group too, and looking forward to meeting the chapter folks in LB next weekend.:-wink

What in the name of Henry are those guys doing with that engine , in the back Backwards??

And do I see a added plate to the frame?? with a big enough truck that would not be nessassary.

Good question 80broncoman, I just found the pic on the net and enjoyed it. I think they wanted a front wheel drive economy vehicle. :-X21

Interesting. Even though theirs are green. I think it would be cool to own an old fire engine.

Welcome yourself! Looking forward to Long Beach myself.
