custom intake on 1986 2.3L , HELP needed
im looking into increasing the intake flow for my 1986 2.3L ranger to match the exhaust and engine work ive re-done,
there is a idle air control valve mounted on the current airbox that runs a 2nd smaller airtube to the throttle body, is there a intake kit i can buy that will mount this IAC, or should i even bother? THANKS ! , steve :-drink |
I would not even bother. The stock intake will outflow the stock head. The stock intake is already well designed, its hard to improve on. Unless you add a turbo, the stock intake is all you need.

Yeah but if you do enuff little things it adds up to a fair difference, But on a smaller motor i dont think itd make much of any difference, Like on bigger motors i know theres a difference in power, but the smaller motors come with intakes that are pretty close to the bigger motors, so there already running the bigger intakes, but if ur just wanting to tweak something then sherr go for it

i just gutted the intake off my 88 STX, K&N knockoff and a hose clamp over the throttle body, i wanna say it seems peppier but its probably all in my head:-X22
