Purging Air from Cooling System-'01 F250

Is there a certain procedure for installing new coolant and purging the air from the cooling system? Just changed the water pump. Truck is a 2001 F250 SD Powerstroke.

Also new temp sensor not working (no movement on the idiot factory gauge needle, reads cold). perhaps a "bad" new one sold to me. Any way to test sensor or wire harness?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It will purge by its self, you don't need to do anything except maybe turn on your heater.

I agree with Clay....
Also, don't forget to check your coolant level once a day for the next week or so and add if necessary.
