8in lift????s
i have just put a 6in lift on my 92 f150 and i want it a little higher and would rather do suspension instead of a body lift.
my question is can i use my 6in drop bracket stuff and just buy 8in springs up front? |
depends on the lift. In my experience the drop brackets usually come with bolt holes for a 4 or 6 inch lift. You may need longer drop bracket. I helped a buddy with a lift on a 94 f150... he put six in ch springs up front with 2 inch coil spacers. so basically this is the net result of put in 8 inch springs. His worked OK but he had to buy some camber spacers to get the alignment right.

Why do you need 8 inches of lift in a half ton pickup? The tires you could fit with that lift are way to big for stock axles.
But yes, you should be able to go an extra 2 inches with your brackets. You might want to look into a TRF(Tie rod flip) tho, |

I just thought I'd toss it out there because I have 5 inch lift and 37s. It isn't a wheeler by any means, but it does get used hhard from time to time. And that tire is pushing the limits of the axles. Only way I think I'll get away with it is I have a mild A/T tire

no one is going to like this but........
im actually runnung 33x12.50 mt/r's on 15x12 welds and 2in wheel spacers and they rub extremely bad with the bumper spaced about an inch but thanks for the help! i just want the tires to clear without have to space the bumper 34654576 inches or cut it up too much i am also going to eventually get wider 33 tires and since they already scrub now.. more lift is kinda a must Edit: i second that tie rod flip... definitely on the list of to do's |
Ummm, WOW. I'd like to see a pic.
But just cut the bumper. It can look alright if done right. https://www.supermotors.net/getfile/...ullsize/a3.jpg |
black single cab on p.454
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...l#post10028185 i will take some better pics today though.. i personally love the look. the only reason im running 12.50 wide is cause i got them for free. when they wear i will go wider |
wiyh that much lift have you thought about longer radius arms and you can just use a 2" spacer !
|
would i need longer arms for 8inches?
|
Are the 2" wheel spacers necessary with those wheels or something? With 6" of lift, you should have no trouble clearing 33x12.50's. The problem is how far out they are spaced with those wheels and spacers.

theyre not necessary at all.. they are on because i just want the tires to stick out more.
the tires im running have nothing to do with my suspension question but yes the tires will clear without the spacers but im not taling them off |
Than cut ur bumper. :D
