New tranny, now wont start. Help?

I just finished putting in my "new-to-me" C6 and everything seemed to go fine with that. Problem is, now it wont start. It doesn't turn over at all. I feel like it has to have something to do with the NSS, but what? It's the same switch that was on the previous tranny, and there's only one way to put it on. I just don't see where i could go wrong with that. Any ideas?

Also, i don't know if it's relevant, but i also can't feel the detents the way i could before. I have to pull the shift lever (on the column) from about 1:00 to below 3:00 before it feels like it "falls" into a gear.

Sounds like it could be an adjustment issue. Try disconnecting the linkage and make sure the tranny is fully in park by hand, then try to start it and see what happens.

So try that with the NSS still on there? I tried taking the NSS off completely and rotating the ring inside it, but no matter where i put it, it still didn't start. Also, just so i'm sure, park should have the lever all the way towards the front of the tranny, right?

Also, i just went out and tried to jump the solenoid and it will turn over that way. It wouldn't start, but it did turn over. That shouldn't have anything to do with the NSS should it?

Did the tranny come off of a truck? Car automatics had a reverse shift pattern if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, the new tranny was originally in a Bronco. It was mated up to a 302 until the day I got it.

The shift lever should mount from the bottom and and park position is to the front of the truck. If it starts with the linkage off, you need to look at linkage adjustment next. If it doesn't start, there's an adjustment to the NSS that involves a small drill bit through an alignment hole on the front of the NSS.
