truck problems need help

Hey what's up guys tex here. I need a little help diagnosing the problem I'm having with my truck. I have 2008 f 450 And have 111855 Miles on it. When I'm driving at 65 miles miles an hour Everything seems fine. But when I slow down Or even stop My truck will run really rough And then a wrench light comes on the dash. No smoke Just runs rough and is very loud. And not much power No check engine light. It has a brand new fuel filter And the dpf is on with no tune

Wrench light is check engine to me.. I'd go get someone to read the codes.. then you'd know what to do..

Bad egr I bet

The truck Just went through a 20 minute regeneration seems to be the running a little better now I guess it's time to take the diesel particulate filter off again. Does anyone know if the egr valve is covered under the extended warranty?
Thanks

you have the SCT tuner. does it support reading codes? I know the Spartan does.

Yes it goes I checked it And the only food that is showing is P 2002

Texas450 01-27-2011 10:10 AM

Sorry voice text Still has issues I check the code And it says p 2002

sdetweil 01-27-2011 10:15 AM

are u still using the aftermarket intake filter setup? this also causes the 2002 code

That code could be a false code because of the after market AF.
P2002 REGEN Particulate Trap Efficiency
Below Threshold
This error occurs if an expected pressure drop through the DPF
is lower than the specified value following a regeneration cycle
(based on the concept of normalized pressure differential).

But what concerns me is the rough running...maybe another issue all together. A sticky injector?

maybe run some fuel injector cleaner through the thing.

Yes I am but I can't imagine that would be the reason the truck is running rough unless maybe I have clogged up the diesel particulate filter then maybe it would run rough. What do you think

But you just did a regen...so I am leaning towards a injector issue.

DPF should not be full as you run with out it most of the time.

Perhaps a sensor fore or aft of the dpf is out of spec but I would suspect a different code then.

I'd opt to run some injector cleaner and see what it does.

That's me.

Okay I will do that Which 1 should I pick up at the next truck stop?

Texas450 01-27-2011 10:43 AM

Just went through another regeneration it's only been about 70 miles sence the last 1
