Why are autolite glow plugs not recommended ?
Ok it seems every parts store only stocks autolite. What gives, why can't we use these?
They flat out are garbage they fail very fast and the tips swell and break off in the motor. If you wan to chance it and find out what others have the hard way go for it. Stick with OEM BERU plugs.
They have been know to swell up and when its time to remove them they break off and then you need to remove the head to get it out.
Ok what do I use then? Ford and international both are 25 a piece. No thanks. Where do I get the beru at?
BERU is the OEM supplier for these plugs. That price is a little high they should be around 17.00 each last I checked but like most things tend to go up in price.
Ok the place has champion in stock for 15 a piece. Are those good?
Here is some links just search by the part number ZD-11
Amazon.com: Motorcraft ZD11 Glow Plug: Automotive about 13.XX but free shipping RockAuto Auto Parts is the lowest price with $9.60 |
