Carb help

I posted a thread about this issue in the carb section about 6 hrs ago with no replies yet, so I figured I would try here since my truck is the only way to work.

While I was taking the carb apart, I turned it upside down while pulling the halves apart, and a little ball bearing fell out. Now I don't have a clue where this went or what its for. Been looking at the carb for about 30 mins now trying to figure out where this little ball went. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Sorry for such a huge pic, but I wanted to make sure anyone that wants to help can clearly see the carb. The red arrow, indicates where I found the ball.

The ball that's escaped is the accelerater pump ball. I looked in two books and at two rebuild sheets and they all indicate that it goes in the spot at the 9:00 position from the throttle bore (on your photo). Trouble is, the welch plug that holds it and the weight in is installed, so it can't have escaped from there; that means that it's eaither NOT the accel. pump ball, or your carb has it in a different spot.
I'd use a little compressed air to find the passage that runs to the pump squirter from the pump diaphragm housing: air will come out in the spot the ball and weight go. If you use too much pressure, the welch plug could fly out and poke your eye out (kid). :D Be careful.
Here's how the accelerator pump circuit works:
The pump rod moves the diaphragm, which pushes fuel through the housing, past the ball and weight, and through the pump nozzle.
One other thing occurred to me while writing this. Just above the accel. pump rod slot, thete's a hole. Does it fit in it? See if the hole doesn't come out in the squirter.
Easy, right?
Sorry I can't be better help.

Is that YOUR carb in the picture? Or is that a generic picture?

If it's a generic, the hole that it goes into isn't in opened in that pic. It goes into the hole (has a plug in it) in the upper left corner. There should also be a weight that goes above the ball, hopefully you didn't lose that....
