with eaton superchargers, if your s/c unit blows, you can unhook the belt, and lock the bypass open, and drive like your were naturally aspirated all the way home.
eaton units are very well made; they have to be for the amazing tolerances between the screws (you gotta see inside one for yourself!) eaton have randomly stress tested their M series superchargers at 12,000 rpm for 100,000 miles without failure. that's pretty damn good if you are looking for durability.
this may be a biased opinion as I bought an eaton m112 with <25k miles on it and it is in great condition.

I am torn between the twin-screw (Whipple or Eaton) and the Vortech who claims they can give good towing boosts just above the 2k rpm band. Like you said, the 3 year warranty makes it easy to swing to the centrifugal side. Not only that, if a component on the charger goes bad, the factory induction system is still intact and you can limp home.

I'm pleased with it so far. Installation wasn't terribly difficult....had excellent tech support from the company I bought the unit from. If you like supercharger whine then this unit is deffinately the way to go....sounds like a turbo diesel spooling from idle to about 1700 RPMS...after that you can't hear it. Highway driving it's bearly audible. Mind you I've only had this thing in for 500 miles or so. They quiet down as they break in. I'll get it dyno'd this weekend... :-X22 3-core intercooler is great upgrade and worth the $300. If you want more info go to Trixter's Racing website.
