Nice pics! The good news is you have an existing evap canister so you might be able to return the one you bought (those are EXPENSIVE!). I couldn't see the vacuum distribution node but it might be hidden by the air cleaner. When you're feeling better, could you get some pics around the carb with the air cleaner removed?

I also saw the existing vacuum reservoir looked a little rusted and had been tossed to the side (passenger side close to the blower motor). Probly why they disconnected the other stuff... rust corroded and prevented vacuum buildup.

Did you know your PCV valve is not in its proper place? The choke housing is missing. [trying to be helpful!] :)

there is a line coming out of the back bottom of the carburetor has a screw inserted into it. there is also a big line coming from the front of the carburetor that leads to nothing, I assume this was the line that went to the fuel canister for vapor. I am not sure that is correct my only question would be what sort of valve would connect it or some kind of fitting tee, check valve?

I'm sorry your health is struggling. But, I'm not going to be much help as I cannot get my head around your posts. Without capitalization nor punctuation it takes too much of my time to work out what you are saying. And, as a volunteer my time is limited. So, I tend to try to help when I can easily understand what is being said. Good luck, and I hope your health gets better, quickly.

Nice pics! Really gave us an overview of what's going on. Yes, according to other threads, the big hose on the front of the carb that is not connected to anything goes to the charcoal canister (also called the evap canister). The vacuum hose on the back of the carb should likely go to the distributor. The "startrek voyager" looking things are called Purge valves and are inline with the fuel tank evaporation vacuum lines after it goes through the evaporation canister. They control whether the fumes are sucked off the fuel tank or not based on engine speed.

If you don't have a picture of your vacuum diagram on the top of the grill, you can view similar ones on these threads too:

According to his first posts, he has a vehicle that someone butchered the smog stuff. He doesn't know much about how anything works so he wants simple descriptions on what stuff is and where it goes. He provided pictures so we could see what was going on and help him connect stuff back together. I'm trying my best. :)

Well I did all I could do and sent the truck in for smog diagnosis. My fingers are crossed.

Smog diagnosis? Don't they exempt the vehicle after a certain age?
