If you have noticed that your 1980-1986 F-Series truck is stuck in Defrost mode, this Blend Door will restore your truck to proper HVAC operation.
This improved Blend Door does not inherit the design flaws present in the original door (Ford PN E0TZ-18A361-A). Over time, the thin plastic joining the hinge to the door flexes and cracks due to the heat and stress the door is exposed to. Eventually, the door separates from the hinge and your truck is stuck in defrost mode.
The Blend Door shown is printed as a single piece using 3D printing technology using rugged ABS plastic. ABS plastic can withstand exposure to 100 degrees C (80 degrees C sustained), making ABS a suitable material for this application.
The door ships with an instruction page, along with recommendations for customers to procure their fastener hardware of choice and foam to provide a better seal for airflow. There is also an option to have foam pre-attached with all the correct hardware to install the door with a minimum of fuss.
