This rust free 1991 Ford F-150 is a classic truck that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes. Its like a time capsule inside and out.   It has 95000 original miles and was obviously babied it's entire life.   I can only assume that its condition indicates it was garage kept for a very long time.   The truck bed is also in great condition considering it's age - not banged up at all.   The exterior color is the original Colonial White while the interior color is blue.   It is a dual tank truck and I think the only thing that doesn't work is the fuel gauge for the front tank, so the 2nd owners son in law told me he would run it until it got low and then switch to the rear tank - where the gauge works fine.   I googled it and it is a very common issue on these trucks.  Unless the sending unit goes out in the tank, it isn't worth dropping the tank to fix the float - when you have two tanks to work off of.   The seat is also ripped on the drivers side.   But everything else on the interior is mint. The body type is a standard cab pickup with two doors, making it perfect for those who need a reliable and durable vehicle for work or play.  I hate the cliche, but this is one of those trucks that you really need to see - to appreciate.   


It is a 2wd with the 4.9 - 300 C.I. long block inline six cylinder.   This engine combo was called the "most reliable engine ever built" by Jalopnik.   It will outlive us all.  Ford manufactured this same motor from 1965-1996 with minimal changes.   Throughout its 31 years in service, the 300 inline-six has found its way into not only farm pickups, but also airline tugs, tractors, irrigation pumps, snow plows, wood chippers and even those big brown UPS trucks that delivered your car parts.

More important than their outright power was the fact that these 300 inline-sixes made so much of their torque at the bottom of the rev range. Peak twist coming in at a staggeringly low 2,000 RPM, according to F150hub. Add that to the insane 6.32:1 granny gear in the available T18 manual transmission or the 6.69:1 granny in the NP 435 trans, and 300CID-equipped trucks could tow a Sequoia up a mountain—both the Toyota and the tree.

But silky-smooth inline-six’s low-end grunt isn’t the only thing that won the 300 CID its reputation among truck lovers. What really makes the 300 stand out from the rest is its proven longevity.  They are bullet proof.   I know a guy who bought a Bronco with plans of swapping out the 300 for a Cummins diesel.   But he decided he would wait until the 300 died to swap it.   Now, 23 years later the Cummins is still in the corner of his garage and the 300,000 mile 300 is still purring.   He can't kill the thing.   

The 300 CID is a bone-simple engine, made entirely of cast iron, with a beefy crankshaft held on by seven main bearings and a camshaft in the block activating pushrods to open and close the two overhead valves per cylinder.  It is arguably the best engine that Ford Motor Company ever built - and I challenge you to find negative articles about it on the internet.    People who know it, simply love this engine.   You, your children, your grandchildren and their children will enjoy it too.
