Description:

Hedman 89236 silver ceramic-coated headers for 429/460 Ford BBF swap into '53-'72 F-100 2wd. Never used on a running engine, but were installed (so I was told) on a display in a speed shop. I have just the headers; I do not have the header bolts, any gaskets, or the collectors (all of which are available.) The coating is in good shape, but not perfect- there are some scratches. No dents or broken welds, no "reshaping". These are not show quality, but will serve just fine for street use.  These are currently $697.99 from Summit.

Note #1: The flange is stamped 89230- this is the part number for the base header, which is mild steel. It is available also in 89233 (black ceramic) and 89236 (silver ceramic); all three headers have the 89230 stamped on them.

Note #2: Internet experiences on the fit vary wildly. Some people love them, some claim that they don't fit at all. Hedman is vague about exactly what mounts/suspension they used to fit these, but it's implied that they are intended to be used with Trans-Dapt mounts, and probably a stock suspension. It's obvious that the engine should be mounted fairly low in the frame. If the engine is set too high, or at too severe an angle, or too far back, the passenger header will hit the firewall. The Sanderson headers are almost identical in design.

Note #3: It's also unclear which oil pan was used when Hedman designed these. There are at least three stock BBF pan/pickup/oil pump combos- front sump for cars, rear sump for some trucks, and "mid sump" for vans and later truck 7.5/460s. All I can say is, measure and plan accordingly- as you would with any swap.

Note #4: (sheesh!) I've seen these listed as fitting both '53-'72 and '54-'72 F-100s. The only real difference is that '53s had a flathead and '54-up had OHV V8s, it's the same chassis either way.

Asking $400. Located in Central Illinois.  Would prefer not to ship, but will if buyer covers the shipping costs.
