Description:
I'm trying to help my brother in law sell his Ranchero. It is at a point where it can be used as is or take it to another level. My understanding that it is a modified one-year body style 1972 Ford Ranchero Squire with a numbers matching 429 c.i.V8. The C6 automatic transmission comes with a very responsive shift kit that will not disappoint. Only 166 Rancheros came with the 429 V8 with a four-barrel carburetor. Per the Marti report this is the only 1972 Ranchero Squire equipped with both the 429 and the Visibility Group. There are plenty of 351’s out there but this is the top dog Ford offered for ‘72. You will also see in the Marti report that the car was originally white but was repainted gold with ghost flames. The wood grain applique was removed and the original white vinyl top was replaced with a black vinyl when the sunroof was installed, there’s a latch missing. There are scratches and a small indent showing on the passenger door and the rear panel. All of these changes were under prior ownership. The original ginger interior bench seat and carpet has been replaced with black bucket racing style seats that really hold you in place, new seat belts, center console and black carpeting. The rest of the interior was converted to all black and upgraded with racing style bucket seats giving it the proper interior it deserves to go with all that muscle. Mechanical upgrades include replacement of the original starter with a high torque model along with a switch-controlled fuel pump in order to combat vapor lock. The combination works very well. Overall, the drivetrain is strong and the vehicle tracks well. The engine starts right up and does not smoke. The heater has been bypassed and the air conditioner compressor spins but does not produce cold air. The white lettered tires are 235/60R14 BFGoodrich Radials mounted on Cragar S/S wheels for that period correct look. The odometer reads just over 22,000 miles but true mileage is unknown. Up to a few years ago when he purchased this car it was always a west coast car which explains its very good condition. The undercarriage is VERY clean and appears to have no rust on the frame or underside of the body. During his ownership it has always been garaged during the winter. This auto is in above average condition throughout and always draws a crowd at shows. There are a few items that need attention as evident in the photos and the price is adjusted accordingly. There is enough there to make it your own! This car is an investment in your fun quotient as well as your auto portfolio.
