Description:
I'm not sure I want to sell this but my wife wants me to give it a try ("happy wife, happy life"). It's a 1967 Ford F-250 Camper Special, $3,750 OBO. I don't know how to price it but I've been offered $2,500 just for the motor and a couple other guys have asked me what I want. Make me an offer. Cash only. Will do facetime/zoom/hangout walkthrough if you want. See below for more information or go to this thread on this site to learn more Link
I would like to see this truck go to a collector or someone that wants to use it. It has a great “patina” and not too much scary rust (I was planning to clear seal it - I like the look). It would be good for parts too but that would be sad. We need to keep these old trucks around! No computers!
I am the second owner of this classic truck. A good friend sold it to me when I mentioned I was looking for a truck to go to the dump and the lumberyard. He’s had it since it was new (in California) and for the last twenty years he has used it for dump runs here in Colorado. I thought I would have time and money to bring it back to a better condition. It didn’t need much to get her running well and mostly safe. I put about $2k into it (including labor). It needs wheels, tires, tail light, washer fluid reservoir, and windshield before I would take my kid in it. See below for full list of near-term needs (per my mechanic).
1. 144,057 miles according to original Owner (44,057 Miles on odometer). Original owner thinks it’s only been around once (he’s pushing 90 so take it with a grain of salt).
2. There are 50,602 miles on the “new” 390 V8 engine (replaced at 93,455 miles per original owner’s notes in manual)
3. It starts easily (with choke) but needs to warm up before driving (especially in winter).
4. No oil leaks
5. Includes Chilton’s manual and another good repair resource (see photo).
6. Original owner manual in glovebox
7. Old CB
8. Two batteries (one for camper is disconnected)
9. 8’ bed (fits a 4x8 flat)
10. Awesome new saddle blanket seat cover (with pockets!)
11. Automatic.
In October 2021 I had a complete diagnostic and the following maintenance ($1600 including labor):
1. New fuel pump and filter
2. New radiator cap
3. All new belts and upper and lower radiator hoses
4. Disconnected auxiliary fuel tanks
5. Replaced fuel line and valve
6. Fluid Change (brake, oil, coolant, differential)
7. Resealed differential cover and pinion
8. New wiper blades
Still needs the following (at a minimum):
1. Shocks, stabilizer bar links (bushings), driveshaft carrier bearing, radius arm bushings, washer fluid reservoir,
2. Heater and A/C do not work
3. Has two split rim wheels and old tires (tread depth above 4/32nds but probably 20 years old). Owner has researched and found replacement wheels (if interested).
4. Brakes not inspected due to split rims.
5. Windshield pretty bad
6. Needs driver side reverse light repair (not bulb).
7. Needs passenger side brake\turn light (not bulb).
