1965 Ford N500 "COE" Trailer Toter For Sale. The N Series Ford Trucks were produced from 1962 to 1969 as medium- to heavy-duty trucks. It was a short-nose truck, in between the full-fender F Series and the cab-over-engine C Series. The regular cab sits high over the short nose with plenty of visibility all around. It's possible to see traffic in the intersection ahead, over the top of several cars in front.
Wife says I can't spend any more money on the Ford, and she wants it sold. Mechanical restoration is complete. Does the Big 4: Runs, Drives, Stops, and Backs Up. Project needs to be finished. Needs the seat recovered, new tires and wheels, radio *****, and paint. Next on my list was recovering the seat. I'd change the wheels and tires from the harder to get 20-inch to more readily available 22.5-inch. Have an original Ford AM radio for the truck, but the face-plate isn't the best, and it's missing the *****. Couldn't decide if I wanted to fix-up the AM radio, or put in an after-market AM/FM/Stereo. Haven't painted the truck, because as soon as I painted it, someone would want a different color. I'd also add twin stacks behind the cab, but that would be a personal preference.
Nice little truck was set-up for hauling mobile homes. Truck has a 330-cubic-inch, 2V, medium-duty, FT engine, 160 net HP @ 3,800 RPM, New Process 435, 4-speed transmission, Eaton model 13802, 2-speed, 5.83/8.11, rear differential, 15,000 lbs. rear axle capacity, 20,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight rating, 121"-short wheel base, custom bed big enough to haul groceries, 2-100-gallon-saddle fuel tanks, 1-20-gallon, behind-the-seat fuel tank, a gooseneck-trailer ball, a bumper-pull-trailer ball, new brake controller, 6-pin-standard trailer-wiring, and many new parts. Re-sealed the engine, re-built the carburetor, new fuel pump and filter, new alternator, repaired and refinished the radiator, rebuilt the brake system, installed new king pins and shocks, recent alignment, and more that I can't recall.Pl
Have had the truck for approximately 5 years. Purchased it after I retired from work, and it's been a hobby project for me. Been to several shows with the truck. Just about every show in western Colorado, and even the Antique Truck Historical Society Show in Aztec New Mexico. Won the blue ribbon at the Delta County Fair Parade in August of 2016, a few months before the Presidential Election. Think the judges liked the decorations for the parade. Have a few videos of the truck on youtube.
