Truly grandpa's truck, located in Bend, OR. This well preserved 2WD was purchased new by my wife's grandfather in 1974 and carefully cared for ever since. Special ordered with brown exterior, brown interior and factory air conditioning which works well. Additions to the exterior include a tonneau cover and updated wheels/tires. The interior has been updated with a recovered bench seat, updated stereo(not cutting the dash), steering wheel(have the original) and a removable arm rest w/cup holders.
Powered by a brand new 390 w/ roughly 6000 miles on it, built by Monkey Wrench in Bend. Additions include a Holley 4bbl carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, Pertronix and MSD ignition and headers with new full length exhaust.
Shortly before the engine was done, I had a new C-6 transmission built and installed with a shift kit. The tranny has maybe 6100 miles on it.
I also installed a Gear Vendor overdrive which effectively gives the truck a 6 speed transmission if chosen to be operated that way, however, I've only used it as an overdrive for efficiency.
Finishing the drivetrain is a Dana 60 with a brand new Power Loc limited slip which functions perfectly.
The body is in incredible shape for its age with no rust. Scratches and dings of course as this truck was used for work, but babies when the work was done.
The interior is a comfortable place to spend time as everything functions as it should, including the dual tank valve and gauge switch and even the bed light! You'd be very hard pressed to find a truck of this age in similar condition. Only selling as it's not used much and we'd like to see it go to a new owner that will continue the level of care it has received over the past 45 years.
