I guess I didn't stretch the tubing enough. I still have extra material, so as you suggested I will just cut replacement pieces.
By the way, if you see a 2012 F350 with WA plates driving around SLC later this month, that would be me - I am an Outdoor Retailer guy.

Yes, that will happen if you don't stretch and release the seal a few times before cutting the surgical tubing. It's common for the tubing to have a little bit of tension in it before cutting and then retracting some after installation. Sorry didn't mention it in the video. If you think it's a problem, you can cut a short piece and simply insert it into the door seal ends where the gap would be. Just a thought.

I recently performed your door seal mod - great mod idea by the way. Lately I've noticed that the internal tube has shrunk a bit where the door seal ends meet. Did you run into this after your install?
