Honestly, you would be much better off if you posted your problem in the forum, (many more good brains over there)... From what you told me, I would guess you have (1) PIP sensor in distributor getting weak or going bad (2 ) the ECM on the dist or fenderwell depending on model getting weak or going bad.. These two items will usually heat up and quit then work again when cooled off.. I would advise getting a new or junk yard dist for the pip, people don't seem to have much luck with rebuilt.. The thing with a used (JY) is if it don't work you can get another until you get a good one.. If you get an EQQUS 3145 code reader you will be ahead of the game, so much easier than reading a flashing light.
