Sorry I didn't catch this earlier. I'm a member of the FCofA, yep. Their pub. is a great read for me. My Fairlane had no engine in it, but had I6 motor mounts in the trunk. The Meteor has a 221 v8 (yellow valve covers). Long story short, I got the '48 F1 and the Meteor, and was ready to start the resto on each. Then my old house caught fire, had to build a new one, and so all of my projects got shelved for the while. I'm back at it now, though. I was hoping to have the Mercury done by now, but alas, such as life. I just found two more Meteors, 1 is a hardtop, and hope to see if I can get them this Spring. More projects, lol. The sitting time has been unkind to my Meteor, and it may be better served as a parts car now.

Mine's a '62 2 door sedan, and I have a '62 4 door Meteor.

What kind of Fairlane do you have? I have a 63 2 door sedan.
