I have not done an AOD. But on a C6/C4 ya would remove the tail shaft housing and than the long tail shaft. Ya have to pull the pan and the rear mount to get to the clip and to get the short 4X4 shaft back in. The clip under the mount is not needed for 4X4 as there is no tail shaft.

yes someone posted that there is a easier way to change the tail shaft on a transmission from 2wd to 4wd and you where the person to ask i would appreciate it if you could help me out its a aod trans
