Sorry for the late reply. To my knowledge, there was no "SE" package offered on 1981 model trucks from the factory. This was more than likely a dealer promotion.

I looked at an '81 F100 Flareside today, with 302 / auto, and it had a special edition badge on the tailgate. It was all black with a gold stripe package (the multiple squares). Was there truly a special edition package that you know of? The paint was all original, in a bit of rough shape but the truck and I believe the badge are original. Thanks!
