Hey Scott, I know you don't remember me but you really helped me out when I purchased my 2008 6.4 a few years back.. everthing I needed was answered here.. I traded it in on a 2011 Shelby gt500 had my fun for a year but wanted back in a truck. SO I bought a 2017 f250 about 2 weeks ago... so here I am. Only thing that sucks is I had to make a new name... forgot my password.. sent to change it and never got a reply. Anyway you could help me out?? I was " STROKINMY'08 " any help would be greatly appreciated... glad to see there's quite a few of the same guys still here helping.

yeah, for now check the nitrites and let that be your guide. In the tech folder there should be a coolant maintenance tips document. If not let me know.

alright thanks for the help....almost 74k on my truck so not quite there yet...I'll keep an eye out!

At the 100K mile mark your coolant needs replaced if not done sooner. The chemicals and such get depleted. You should at least be checking your nitrites. If those fall below 300ppm. then replacement is needed.
If you need to do it then I would recommend shopping around and see what you can get price wise. Or do it yourself. Dump it. Put in distilled water, drive it around a bit, then dump and put in new coolant.
Bottom line is unless you are at 100K or the nitrites are low then nothing to do right now.
