Definitely worth it, I hung on for 8 yrs waiting for CABLE or DSL to show up, now both are 3/10 of a mile from home and will NOT come up the private drive to connect me, I was told it would be another decade before they opted to come up my way. (I am RURAL as well) Choices are Hughes Net or Wild Blue, Hughes net is the better service and customer service, Wild Blue is about 9$ cheaper a month. I am paying 79.95 a month with 300 upfront for the equipment. I chose the mid range service for home as I have teenagers sharing the bandwidth.

Nutfarmii, saw where you said that you now on the satellite. In your opinion, is it worth it??? I'm in a rural area with NO hopes of any cable and on a mom & pop telco.(a DSL is $350.00 and up,plus monthly.
If you would I'd appreciate the time it takes to give me a yea or nay.
    Thanks, TJ
